Had to meet parents on two occasion recently. And I must say they were very very disturbing meetings.
One girl had not come to school for many days. She had only appeared to school for less than 10 days for this term. The mother has no way to get her to school. She would just wake up late even when the mother woke her up. She would not return home early even when her mother wanted her. She was beyond her parents' control. During the meeting with Principal, VP, myself and DM, she was passively defiant. Refused to apologise or plead for leniency. She only open her mouth to argue. I sympathise the parents. They had to beg her to open her mouth. They were the one begging for school not to suspend her. She was disrespectful. It is the first time I have seen my P so angry. It is so sad that these parents love her but she just took advantage of it. She has come to think that when they go with her means that they love her. If they try to restraint her or discipline her, they don't love her. Why had the parents allow her to control them! I can't help but feel angry and sad.

The second case is even more worrying. The girl has stayed away from home and only see the father every two weeks for pocket money. If I were the father, I would have get the police in. I don't understand why he is so afraid to act on it and get beyond parental control order. Why had he, in the first place, allowed her to control him. Allowing someone immature to control him!

Sigh.....

My wife and I have resolved to take care of our daughters so that they would not go wayward.

Lord, help us to raise them up to be women after your heart. Amen.
