Tour guide
The Australian just landed. For the next three days, I will be tour guide but cannot collect tips... sigh.
Today is Ghim Moh Sec closing ceremony... sad that i could not join them... afterall, some of my most memorable moments were related to the place and people. Such is life, nothing permanent except for a few things.. that last, faith, hope and charity.

First International Science Education Conference
I am so thankful that the first ISEC is over. Having a paper to present is stressful but honestly, I do enjoy such challenge. I must say I do miss sitting there listening to lecture and presentation. There is just so much to learn from others to improve my own teaching.
My medical report by Raffles Medical shows that I am in good health, except for overweight... which I knew it, with or without the professional advise. Thank God for the health....

Visit to Doulos

Took childcare leave to bring my children to visit MV Doulos at Harbourfront yesterday. They were of course thrilled that they were visiting a ship and that their daddy stayed on board for three weeks in 1991 and 1992.
In `1991, they were at Keelung, Taiwan and 1992, they were at Kaoshiong, Taiwan. I flew there to join the ship as interpreter for them, Eng-Chinese. I was much blessed on board. Making friends, serving God and reaching out to the people without the Lord. I was real faith journey for me. Each day, we will set off with a team which was going out to do ministry. It could be the street, a church or even a hospital. We started the day with worship and breakfast. And then meeting the team, and they will plan the ad hoc programme. Sometime, I just translate, once I share my testimony in front of taipei train station, or joined as a character in their skit. I got to know a good friend on board - Go Chin Zam, a burmese. We kept in touch after that and he and wife visit us when they were in Singapore. I was pleasantly surprised to meet him yesterday as he is now based in Yangoon. He put on, so am I. haha.
My experience was faith stretching and enriched my walk with God. I did what I would not be able to to do because God empowered me. I must say I missed those moments of ministry.
Oh! Doulos is greek for slave or servant. It is a priviledge to serve God and man.
I will write another time about him.
Anyway, back to my children. We bought books.. I am poorer by $80. Signed up for the tour and they love the brownie. They were of course amazed by the size of the cabin. It was so small! Zuriel told me it was a happy day for him. :-)

meeting an old...
Went to People's Park Market for lunch after church. It is definitely more ventilated compared to the pre-innovation days. Brighter too. Saw this long long quque for yong dua foo! I think it is really crazy to wait s long for it. May be it is an option to pass a Sunday afternoon.
Met someone whom I did not expect. She was the aunty whom I used to order my Sunday-must-have breakfast - vegeterian bee hoon at Tanglin Halt Ten Storey. She knew me so well that I just need to signal to her and she would know what I wanted. It was from when I was single till after I was married. So that customer-waitress relationship was a long one.
Was surprise to see her working as I was told by the shop that she had retired.
Was was shocked to see me too! But was nice that she recognised me. She was telling us that it was too demanding and stressful working there, having to start work at earlier than 5 am to get things ready. The pay wasn't gfood too. She had started working there since she was 24 and her pay was at $1200 and no CPF! It was very generous of her, she bough Jolly bean's ice cream for my children and 2 cups of soya drink for us. Real pai sei.. Appreciate her generosity.
I think this what Chinese says 'Ren jin wei'..
