missions month
This year's church missions month is exciting. Good speakers who inpsire us were invited to the pulpit.
We have church's missionaries coming to the children programme. For my son, we have someone staying over at asia minor/middle east. My son loved the programme. It was good to have them exposed to the needs of the world and the poor. Anyway, they were given a collar pin to remind them to pray for children of that country.
At the end of the session, I conversed with my friends. I was reminded that God can call me into the missions field.
Then just over at Sunday, another family of ours came visit us. A doc, he and family is now at a country in middle east serving God. I admire their courage and obedience, stepping out in faith to serve God.
I am just reminded to be obedient and open to God's guidance.
Dear Lord, help me and family to seek your will. Amen.

National Stadium
The impending closing of National Stadium caused me to think back on the events that were connected to me.
The first one being in 1980. When I was in Sec 1 and my school was performing a mass display event for the National Day Parade. We were training hard, undr sun and rain, for months! At least 8 months. While training, I had many first. Lying down on muddy soil, having someone to faint right infront of me, 'dance', doing silly steps and of course, making good friends. I almost missed the chance to perform because of Chicken pox, but finally was there. It was raining before the event. I still remember the excitement, the running in with music, remembering the marker. Wasted, no pic only.
Then there was Luis Paula crusade in 1987. Perhaps one of the biggest christian evangelistic event in Singapore. It was very moving to see so many people moving forward when the altar call was made. My wife responded to God duirng that event too.
Then there was when I led my first form class to the place. They were doing the plate that changes pattern. It was fun.
And the first SYF for West Spring Band. Emotional event.
I kinda of sad to hear a historical monument is going to be torn down. So, today, we went down to have a look.... haha.
Thank God for the memory.

Zuriel's First Progress Card

Just got son's first progress card. I am happy and praised him. Nothing outstanding in achievement but praise-worthy of his character and attentiveness. :-)

A Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition
I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
Exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things
To thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth,
Let it be ratified in heaven.
Amen.
