Why DaVinci Code did not bother me
Today's sermon was on DaVinci Code. :O
Look like it is a concern for many and I can understand why. The danger of fiction being treated as non-fiction is dangerous (must be Dan Brown is such convincing story teller). But again, for those not well informed, they may all well treat the fiction with the little non-fiction as gospel true.
I heard of a quote "DeVinci Code is the only book when after reading, the reader got dumber" (disclaimer: not me, an academician). The statement is true if whoever read really believe in it.
I wasn't bother. Why? Cos' I have gone thru a phase in my life when i had to be certain that the Christianity I knew was true. I went thru the phase of reading books that talk about evidences for and against the claim of Jesus Christ and the Church. It was a helpful phase. I asked about the origin of Bible, the reality of prophesy, reliability of Bible (internal and external reliability), the claim of historical Christ etc. It was a time of honest doubt and searching. I came out more sure of my faith.
For thosen who really think the fiction is non-fiction ... don't become dumber. Read other sources. Read the Bible and see if it makes sense. Is it really against woman? Is it the Church made Christ divine or He claimed ot be divine? Would disciples like Peter, James and others die for a lie created by themselves?
May the Truth himslef, Jesus Christ, leads people into the non-fiction reality of the world.

Da Vinci Code
There is so much talk about the movie. Today, I even heard colleague who said, the book is out with the movie... hello.. it was book turned movie.
I didn't read or watch the movie. But I have read about the books. I think the plot is probably unquestionably thrilling. The discussion has been on the half-truth (or semi-truth) that the book based it story on. When fiction mingles with non-fiction, it is so hard to separate them.
Anyway, just want to put this site up in case some ppl are interested to know what has gone wrong.

Cross Country
AnnualCross Country in a fre hours time.
Look forward to the break of routine. It will be nice to walk around in nature. It is close to the work of God that reminds me of God's power and presence. I think God has intended that we worship using all our senses. Through smelling the freshness of air and flower, touching the petals, stepping on the grass and experiencing the warmth of morning sun.
I look forward to smiling to the rising sun. :-)
But it will be a long day. We will be meeting parents at 3 pm onwards, plus a compulsory dinner and a

Back in school
three days have past since I am back in school. Got a welcome package on my table. The welcome package is actually a pile of mock exams paper for me to mark and to relief sec 2i. 2i is indeed not an easy class. They are so restless. Probably the saddest part is they are not even concern about their own future. Sigh
I am sure glad to meet old friends in 4A and 4B. Certainy miss them. I am glad to notice that 5A is serious about their study.
But i think I am still adjusting. I feel like a newbie. Not sure of certian new stuff. Overall, I am thankful. School is always rushing. Reliefing lessons is no fun.
My throat is better. God is my healer.

Behold - God is my light

ANNOUNCEMENT:
My third child, second daugther is born today (8/5) at around 7 plus evening!
辜詠恩 Khoo Yong Ern, Eliora is here... weighing 3.295 kg. The heaviest amongst the three.
詠-歌颂主的恩惠 Yong Ern means sing praises of God's grace.
Eliora - The Lord is my Light.
The name came to me when I surveyed the world. Bird flu, terrorism etc seem to point to a world that is getting darker. The solution is to look to the light, and God is our light!
Her pic taken by Handphone:
Thank God that He is gracious. He led the delivery to be smooth going. Mother and baby are in good health and condition. When we were there, there wasn't any rooms. Felt like the first Christmas eve. Thank God for no room, we could walk abit more, which is good for Bee Leng.

Miss werribee

I am now helping my school to send a group of students and teachers to Werribee for exchange.
I must say that i do miss the place and people. It was fun to be there last year. I missed the Carter Cottage I stayed at. My family had a great time in the small, neat and cosy house. The fire place was fun to have!
Anyway, went to google earth to get the image.
