Russian certainly take pride in their heritage, historical sites and their generals and warriors. Peter the Great, the first Tsar of the Romanva dynasty is definitely a visionary leader. How he made St Petersburg from a swampy delta of Neva River into what is today is really amazing. No wonder visionary leadership is something ppl look for.

Many here are Russian Orthodox - but it more because culturally rather than because they choose to believe in Christ as their Savior. I am just not sure what do they understand about salvation. I was blessed to witness baby baptism in a church. I pray that the Church here will be revived to seek God's face faithfully. I read His word joyfully and live His will passionately.

Overall, the city is beautiful, artistic and culturally very rich. But if you do not know Russian, it is really not easy to move about.
