Grandma - part II
When I was young, she fed me porridge. I remember clearly one of the meal. I suppose I remember it because it warms my gut and my heart. It was simple plain teochew porridge. The dish was fishcake, cut into small cute and soya sauce added on it. She fed me mouth by mouth. It was simple dish but rich with love. When I saw her feeding my son and daughter some months ago, I just could not help but reminisce that warm feeling.
She was the one who bought me to her mahjong session. She asked me to stand on her tigh when rheumatism attack her legs. She was the first one to visit me when I was P. Tekong when i had my basic military training. It was a great surprise to me. Up till today, I still can't figured out how a old lady, without knowledge of English knew how to locate me. She didn't even know my name in English! That's how determined she is.
I am her first grandson and I think that has it priviedge of getting more attention. I probably had gone out with her more than the other grandchildren.
I pray that God will bless her with peace and good health. I pray for her to have Jesus.
