Christmas eves (part 2)
Noisiest Christmas Eve
We were at Ngee Ang City when they just started. The Methodist Church had a combined Christmas carol there. We were there to befriend ppl who sat there to enjoy the concert and pass them Christmas gift packages that contain CD of carols and invitation card to any of the 16 churches then. Actually it was one of my few time going orchard on Christmas eve. I never like crowded place.
Spot-lighted Christmas Eve
I acted as one the Magi for the Christmas peagent. And it was broadcasted on the screen in the basement of Ngee Ang City. Never like the make-up. And a re-run in church too.
Overseas Christmas Eve
So far I had spend only 2 CE overseas. One in Turkey and another in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong we went to a church neat the hotel. Was tempted to follow them for street caroling but my mind. Why? Dunno how to sing in Cantonese and worried about getting lost. On hindsight, should join them.
Impactful Chrismas Eve
There were 2 occasions that I remember most. One has to do with my good friend in NUS. On 22 Dec 1988, I invited him to our church’s Christmas cantata. And he opened his life to Christ that night. Another was when I shared with one of my Sunday student’s friend, Larry, after a Christmas eve service. He prayed that night to proclaim Jesus as his Lord. He is now loving and serving God. Praise God!
All in all, Christ was there and here. And that’s the peace and joy of all Christmas Eves.
