Old and New
Went to the new National Library (Central). It is HUGE! 14 levels + basement. My children were most happy. Han Ern borrowed a couple of books. Even Karis spotted her favourite, Elmo and insisted tat we should take it home. Ha ha.
Many missed the old lib, but the new one will not come if the old one is not gone. It is such an ironical thing, to keep the old or to embrace the new? I suspose such tension will always be there in our life time. For me, it will the change of Principal. Serving 5 years with this current one, it will not be easy to bid farewell. We had a farewell dinner for him. Hosted by the SAC and some of the school's key personnel attended. Speeches from hearts were spoken. Hugs and hugs. I hugged him, something I never thot I would, but hugged. Emotion got an upper hand over my introvert personality. His emotion I think, not mine. I still think I am more the 'hide your emotion' type. Still, a sense of loss. It will be less exciting, it seem. Of cos, too early to say.
Hold on to the old or embrace the new? Is there a choice? Sigh... New challanges = new opportunities to do more for students. And this one thing you can't have both, at least logically and Biblically speaking.
Th Bible did tell us that when we are in Christ, we are made NEW and the OLD has passed (2 Cor 5:17).
Well, all of us struggle. But one thing for sure, if it is about sin or old bad habit, there is just one option. Confess and ask God to help remove it and replace it with His Holiness.
Lord, let your Spirit renew me, utterly and completely. Amen
