Staff welfare comm organised a farewell for P at Batam.
Was reluctant to go since it means leaving my family behind for a whole day! Well... have to go means have to go.
Batam is smiply uninteresting. Nothing much to see. It was shopping, shopping and shopping. Of cos, sitting in the bus and listening to the tour guide singing in a few languages. That's more impressive.
Anyway, went shopping. What is good to buy? The tip is to follow the 'aunties'. They know if stuff is fresh, cheap and good. So if they stamp their approval by buying... follow. If they walk away, don't buy.
And I think it worked.. haha. Wasn't cheated.. haha
Thank God for the safety and smooth trip. Had a good time talking with friends and sleeping on bus.
