Daily Verse: Psalm 3:3
"But you, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head."
Everyday, we need God as our shield. The attack could be direct attack. I remember once I visited a missionary couple in a sensitive countries. They told us how they were attacked spiritually when they visited some places of worship. They felt the suffocation. I had funny dreams too over at that country and I know it is not my usual ones. Attack could be subtle like influencing of thinkings and worldview. As Christian, we ought to get our worldview from our Father, and that is true regular reading of Bible, corporate worship, prayer, reading of Christian literature, fellowship with other christians etc. But our exposure to the media, friends and even family members, and our interests may slowly move us away from God if we are not careful. My close friend shared with me how her mixing with a group of colleague influenced her to get less interested in God and become more negative on many things. But thank God that He intervened. When there were some misunderstanding between them, she was led back to be closer to God.
Indeed God is the best shield.
Lord, no where do I want to hide but behind your shield. Thanks be to God! Amen.
